Forced Migration: Refuge, Protection and Integration
 
Spend a summer in the welcoming capital city of Madrid, Spain, with AIFS! Study the situation of voluntary and forced migration around the world, earning credits through Fairfield University and doing volunteer work with Spanish NGO ACCEM at a shelter for refugees.

What’s Included:

TUITION
  • Up to 3 credits

COURSES
  • Courses offered in sociology, social justice, volunteering

HOUSING
  • Homestay or student apartment. Residence/Hotel while volunteering

MEALS
  • Homestay students receive daily breakfast and dinner. During the volunteer placement students receive daily breakfast and dinner in the residence/hotel

EXCURSIONS
  • Guided day trips to Segovia and Toledo

CULTURAL & SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
  • Guided city tour, visits to El Prado and the Royal Palace, tapas tour, walking tours and events of cultural interest

ON-SITE RESIDENT DIRECTOR
  • to help with any questions or advice you may need throughout the program
