Prague, Czech Republic
Spend a semester or academic year in the picturesque capital city of Prague, Czech Republic, with AIFS! Choose from a variety of course options at Charles University, the largest and most prestigious university in the Czech Republic. Currently hosting more than 20,000 undergraduate and 25,000 graduate students, Charles University boasts notable alumni such as renowned writer Franz Kafka. Courses are taught in English with no previous Czech language study required.

Study + Internship students earn up to 15 U.S. credits for the semester plus 3-credits for the orientation component. The internship is accredited by Fairfield University and offered for 3 credits. In addition to the internship, students take up to 4 courses from the East and Central European Studies Program (ECES) at Charles University.

You will live in a student residence well connected to the rest of the city. Students have a double room with a shared bathroom and kitchen. The residence hall provides internet access and 24-hour reception. You will receive a European style cold breakfast Monday to Friday in the student residence.

Cultural activities in Prague will include: 
  • Walking tours of the city
  • Opera, theater and ballet performances
  • Sporting events
  • Visits to some of Prague’s famous cafes.
  • Visit to a Bohemian glassworks factory
  • A boat cruise on the Vltava River 
  • 2-day trip to Moravia
Optional excursions (additional fee) to:
  • Kraków and tour Auschwitz-Birkenau, Poland
  • 3 days in Vienna, Austria
  • 2 days in the Czech spa town of Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázne
  • 2 days in Bohemian Switzerland National Park
