Program Focus
Work closely with the GVI staff team to conduct international development research in the Cambodian province of Siem Reap. Pick a topic of interest and conduct community surveys to learn more about development issues and the progress being made in the area. Showcase your finding through a final report and a series of blog posts published by GVI. Use the research to work toward your own studies and provide training and workshops for GVI staff, volunteers, interns, and the local Siem Reap community.
In addition, you will also have a chance to participate in our core projects which contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, UN SDG #4, Quality Education, and #5, Gender Equality.

You will also be contributing to UN SDG #17, Partnerships for the Goals, by working closely with our local partners. You will work with partner staff to provide English lessons to the local community. With their assistance, you will also conduct research, by carrying out interviews, focus groups, discussion panels, and workshops in the local community.

Cambodia location building
Location

Experience the Kingdom of Cambodia with its captivating cultural history and iconic temples and monuments. Siem Reap is a hive of activity, where medieval architecture abuts lively markets, diverse restaurants and riverside hangouts. Further out from the city you can enjoy the stunning natural landscapes, filled with lush greenery, glistening rice paddies and waving sugar palms. Local non-governmental organisations in Cambodia have made massive strides during the past two decades in uplifting their communities. In 2017, we were contacted by a number of these organisations who focus on sustainable development to ask if we would be able to provide the kind of support they need to make their objectives a reality. By joining GVI as an intern Cambodia you will take an active role in improving the educational and community initiatives in Siem Reap.
