Overview

The Webster Leiden Campus was founded in 1983 and is set in an ideal location between The Hague and Amsterdam. Webster University Leiden’s charming building is located alongside one of Leiden's many canals, in the historic center, and houses classrooms, offices, and a student lounge. The intimate campus setting offers small class sizes and the personal environment means that it's easy to get to know most of your fellow students, as well as faculty and staff.

Location, Student Housing, and Student Life

Leiden, Netherlands      Leiden
One of the Netherland’s best-kept secrets, Leiden is a charming university town known for its welcoming student-centered atmosphere – where you see lofty windmills, bicycles, picturesque canals, and charming buildings all in one place. The city has been a center of historical and commercial importance for centuries, where new ideas and philosophies were explored and education cultivated. The vibrant city center contains a wide variety of stores, restaurants, and cafés nestled between quaint streets and charming canals. Whether you fancy the arts, nature, or sports, you’ll feel right at home.

Student Housing
Study abroad students are housed off-campus in the Living and Learning Center (LLC), located just across the street from Webster Leiden's main building, in the heart of the old city center. The building was built in 1929 and was initially used as a vocational school for young women and most recently housed a language school. In keeping with this educational tradition, it is now home to Webster Leiden's Living and Learning Center.

Single and double occupancy rooms are available in the LLC. Each student will have their own bed (with linens), desk, nightstand, lamp, and closet.
Each room is furnished with a kitchenette and a private bathroom. Students have access to on-site laundry facilities, bike storage, cable internet, a student lounge, and a beautiful courtyard. The student lounge features a snack vending machine, microwaves, refrigerator, a television, and complimentary wifi.

The level of security at the LLC offers peace of mind to students and parents. Students will have an electronic key to access the building and their room. The LLC offers on-site resident assistants and the Housing Office is located inside the main entrance. ?

Student Life
Student life at Webster Leiden is filled with discoveries, interaction with people from all over the world, and new experiences. The Student Services
leidenhousing
team at Webster Leiden can help you make the most of being in Leiden with information on the local area, activities, and events across the city!

Students at the Leiden Campus are involved in a variety of activities. Jump into The Canal- the online source of Webster news and views, join student council, play on the football team and other sports teams, realize your potential in the International Relations Club, get in the picture with fellow members of the Photo Club, attend conferences and networking events, or enjoy the Art gallery. These are just a few of the many interesting activities that make up student life at Webster, and Leiden provides the perfect backdrop for it all, with its many cafés, restaurants, and museums.

Students are encouraged by both our staff and professors to develop their leadership skills as we provide them with opportunities to express themselves through whatever means best suits them. This might include joining a club to participate in, attending our Signature lectures on a variety of current
affairs, or creating a piece of art to be shown at the Art gallery in the Living and Learning Center. Student life at Webster is filled with discoveries, new

experiences, and interaction with people from all over the world.

The Leiden Campus plans activities throughout the year to enhance the campus community. Annual events include the Graduation Ceremony, BBQs, Thanksgiving dinner, Holiday evenings, SGA events, European Webster football tournament, Community Service Day, and others.

Christine Benninger is the Students Services Coordinator at the Leiden Campus and is the main point of contact for study abroad students while on the program. Christine has over 15 years of experience at the campus and is a great resource for all things Leiden.
