Program Description:

Summer 2026: June 28 - July 24

Open to all majors!

No Chinese language requirement.

Fulfills the COLFA Second Language Experience language requirement. 

Highlights 

  • CULTURAL COURSE: Through cultural courses, Calligraphy, paper cutting, sugar 

  • Through activities such as painting and seal cutting, students will gain a deeper understanding of Taiwanese culture beyond the classroom. 

  • LANGUAGE BUDDY: Students can utilize the Language Buddy Program to practice and learn Chinese with local NSYSU students. 

  • OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES & FIELD TRIPS: Having students acquire knowledge of Chinese, Taiwanese, and Aboriginal culture, art, and history, and experience their lifestyle. Students will be able to visit various famous attractions in Kaohsiung and other areas in Taiwan and sample the diverse cuisine of Taiwan. 

  • WATER SPORTS: A unique activity at NSYSU! Students should definitely try the various water sports—such as windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, SUP, and more—while enjoying Kaohsiung’s warm sunshine and refreshing sea.
